Located on Rue Gambetta, Oh Caribou! is a restaurant specializing in poutines (a Canadian specialty) with various options.
Poutine is a traditional dish from Quebec made of fries, cheese curds (called squeaky cheese), and hot brown gravy. This is the classic recipe.
“Oh Caribou!” offers a student deal for budget-conscious customers at €8.50 during lunchtime, available upon presenting a student ID.
All the poutines are named after people, which is quite unique.
You can either create your own poutine or choose from pre-designed recipes priced between €12 and €15. The ones that caught our attention include the Christmas Poutine (featuring fresh fries, squeaky cheese, homemade brown gravy, seared foie gras, fig chutney, and chives), the Esteban (with fresh fries, cheese curds, homemade brown gravy, hickory-smoked bacon, Reblochon cheese from Savoie, and chives), and the Jimmy (fresh fries, squeaky cheese, homemade brown gravy, crispy chicken, goat cheese, and chives).
